From strange ideas to working systems.
“Deterministic logic over probabilistic guessing. Production resilience over demo prototypes.”
Hello! I'm Natnael Tezazu.
FULL-STACK & AI SYSTEMS ENGINEER · FINAL-YEAR COMPUTER SCIENCE
I’m a systems engineer and software builder based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I’m interested in taking ideas that are difficult, unusual, or still a little unclear and turning them into software that people can actually rely on. I care less about building something that looks impressive in a demo and more about what happens when the system has to keep working after the demo is over.
I’ve worked on systems where that difference matters. For Addis Mesob, I helped architect an enterprise digital operations platform designed to support 10–15 branch locations, work that earned an official Certificate of Merit from executive management. I also co-founded Ethiosk, an Ethiopian Ministry of Innovation and Technology-backed research project that brought together Fayda National ID verification and a deterministic fraud-scoring engine with more than 95 unit-tested cases. These projects taught me that the difficult part of software is rarely just making it work once. It is making sure it keeps working when the data gets messy, the traffic grows, and something inevitably goes wrong.
I also work with AI, but I like keeping a clear boundary between what a model can guess and what a system should be allowed to do. At the Cursor AI Hackathon Ethiopia, our team placed in the Top 10 out of 50+ teams at the Adwa Memorial Museum. Through projects like SignalIntel and TeraGrant, I’ve worked with real-time intelligence, LLMs, and speech models while putting deterministic logic around the parts that need to be predictable. For me, AI is most useful when it is part of a well-engineered system rather than the system itself.

Verified Engineering Experience
PROVEN TRACK RECORDNational research panel and survey marketplace backed by the Ethiopian Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MInT). Engineered deterministic fraud engine (score.ts, 95+ unit tests), Supabase PostgreSQL RLS, Fayda ID verification, and Telebirr/Chapa automated escrow payouts.
Replaced legacy manual pen-and-paper operational workflows with a centralized operations platform. Piloted in 1 branch and successfully scaled across 10–15 service centers in Addis Ababa with strict RBAC partitioning, immutable logs, and sub-second inventory audits.
Comprehensive curriculum in theoretical and applied computer science: Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA), Operating Systems Internals, Distributed Systems, Relational DBMS & SQL, Computer Networks & Protocol Engineering.
